June month got off to a terrific start with the massive box office success of Major and Vikram. Both movies opened well and continued their success streak into the second week as well. Major and Vikram are profitable ventures for all involved parties and Vikram still running with good numbers across all territories.
After these 2 Movies around 20 small and medium budget films were released in the last few weeks. All these films have disappointed by failing miserably at the box office. Out of these films, the most shocking result has been that of Nani’s Ante Sundaraniki.
This Nani and Nazariya starrer was a massive box office dud despite getting positive talk and with an excellent cast and crew. Ante Sundaraniki has turned out to be a huge disaster after the below-par first weekend. The movie completely collapsed on weekdays and most of the theatres ran into deficits and the movie was quickly removed.
Similarly, Rana and Sai Pallavi starrer Virata Parvam also failed to get the cash registers ringing. The film saw massive drops right from the second day. This week’s two releases Chor Bazaar starring Akash Puri and Sammathame featuring Kiran Abbavaram and Chandini Chowdary also ended up as disappointments.
