Jio Hotstar has officially announced a revision in its subscription prices, which will come into effect from January 28, 2026. The new pricing has already sparked mixed reactions from users, especially due to the sharp increase in premium plans.
One of the biggest changes is in the top-tier Premium annual subscription, which will increase from ₹1,499 to ₹2,199, marking a hike of ₹700. Many users are questioning what additional benefits the platform is offering to justify this price increase. Several subscribers have also complained that they still have to watch ads while streaming content and continue to face buffering issues, even after paying higher fees.
Below is the updated list of Jio Hotstar subscription prices:
Mobile Plans
- Monthly: ₹79
- Quarterly: ₹149 (no change)
- Annual: ₹499 (no change)
Super Plans
- Monthly: ₹149
- Quarterly: ₹349 (earlier ₹299)
- Annual: ₹1,099 (earlier ₹899)
Premium Plans
- Monthly: ₹299 (no change)
- Quarterly: ₹699 (earlier ₹499)
- Annual: ₹2,199 (earlier ₹1,499)
While Jio Hotstar has introduced new monthly options for some tiers, the steep hike in quarterly and annual plans has left many users dissatisfied. As the new prices take effect, audiences are now waiting to see whether the platform will offer better streaming quality, fewer ads, or improved performance to match the increased cost.
