Jio Cinema bought Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki digital rights for a record price

2023 will be a special year for Bollywood badshah Shah Rukh Khan as he gave a comeback with an all-time blockbuster in the form of his film, Pathaan which was released on republic day. The movie broke all box office records and is currently the number one Hindi movie of all time with lifetime collections, beating the previous record holder, Bahubali 2. Now SRK is all set to once again show his stardom with two releases, produced by Red Chillies Entertainment – the Atlee-directed Jawan and the Rajkumar Hirani directorial Dunki.

Dunki is slated to be released on this year’s Christmas weekend, and the movie has started creating records even before its theatrical release. The digital rights of Dunki bought by Jio Cinema for a massive deal of 150 Crores, Which is a record deal for Bollywood film. Truly, Shah Rukh Khan is enjoying a glorious phase as a star after a 4-year gap.

Meanwhile, Jawan, the next theatrical release of Shah Rukh Khan is all ready to release the first teaser in the coming 7 days, and it is being reported that the teaser will be attached to the prints of Hollywood movie Mission Impossible 7. There is also a lot of talk around the theatrical rights of Jawan, but it is certain that it’s not just Jawan, but even Dunki also creating records with the digital rights deal setting for a whopping 150 Crores.

Coming to Jawan, the Atlee directorial features SRK in supposedly a double role alongside Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi in key roles. The film is confirmed for a September 7, 2023, release. As far as Dunki is concerned, the Rajkumar Hirani directorial is touted as a satirical comedy with an underlying message and is slated to hit the theaters during the Christmas 2023 weekend.
