Jawan stands as the highest grosser in Indian cinema for 2023

Jawan keeps raking in millions at the box office.
Jawan 1130Cr+ Gross

Shahrukh Khan had a resounding 2023 which started with blockbuster Pathaan. This was followed with Jawan which went on to become a bigger Bollywood blockbuster for the Bollywood superstar. Currently, his third 2023 release Dunki is running in theatres, and while it might not reach the heights of Jawan and Pathaan, it surely is bringing in crowds to theatres with overseas collections showing great trends.

Jawan has not only become Shahrukh Khan’s highest-grosser but also the top 2023 grosser in Indian cinema. The film has collected Rs 770Cr gross in India and Rs 390Cr+ gross overseas. The total worldwide gross stands at Rs 1160 Cr gross. Before their release, both Salaar and Dunki were expected to collect more than Rs 1000Cr and compete with Jawan.

But looking at Dunki right now it will end up collecting around 1/2 of Jawan with great difficulty. Even Salaar performs pretty ordinarily in other languages so there is no chance for these films to join the Rs 1000Cr club. Jawan will remain the biggest grosser of 2023 for Indian cinema.

Right from its opening day to its full run, Jawan shattered one record after another in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil. The other language versions set a new benchmark for Bollywood movies. Atlee presented Shahrukh Khan at his massy best. Jawan was released with massive hype and the content matched the hype resulting in it becoming the biggest-grosser of Indian cinema this year
