As it is the last film of Vijay's and it is getting released during the Pongal season, theatrically, Jana Nayagan is expected to have a record business, and talking about the film, it is not a complete remake of Bhagavanth Kesari.

Vijay’s final film, Jana Nayagan, has almost completed shooting, but still, the makers moved the release to 2026 Pongal. Because the makers decided to delay the release, Jana Nayagan’s OTT rights have been sold for a record price.

The main reason for the film to move to 2026 is the OTT deal, as the two digital giants, Prime Video and Netflix, have already locked their slots for this year and are unable to afford a higher price for other films.
