Vijay’s Jana Nayagan, produced by KVN Productions, has been announced for a 9th January, 2026 release, and the film’s Telugu version business has been completed with a risk.
If we look at the recent form of Vijay, his films have consistently delivered notable numbers in the Telugu states. But Jana Nayagan is different from them because the buzz is that it is a remake of the Telugu superhit Bhagavanth Kesari.
If it is a remake of a Telugu film, audiences may not show much interest in watching it. Another reason is that the film is arriving on Sankranti, the season in which Telugu films are already packed with many releases.
Jana Nayagan Telugu States: Not So Encouraging Trend or Buzz
So, finding theaters for Jana Nayagan will be very tough, and the distributors cannot buy the Telugu version on an outright basis, as it carries a big risk.
Still, the producers are set to take the risk and releasing the film by just taking an advance from the Telugu distributor, and the total advance is refundable.
There was a buzz that a prominent producer is releasing Jana Nayagan film in Telugu states by paying 9 Cr in advance.
The advantage with Jana Nayagan is the film’s production house is KVN Productions, which is also making Yash’s Toxic. So, Jana Nayagan’s distributor is likely to release Toxic in Telugu as well, and if there is any risk in advance, that can be adjusted immediately in Toxic’s deal.
