Jana Nayagan Censor Row: Vishal Threatens Nadigar Sangam Strike Against CBFC

Jana Nayagan Censor Issue : Vishal Warns of Nadigar Sangam Strike

Vishal has issued a strong warning against the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) over the prolonged censor issues surrounding Jana Nayagan, threatening a massive strike involving over 1,500 Nadigar Sangam members.

The Tamil film, originally planned for a January 9 release, has been stuck in certification limbo for months, shocking both the industry and fans alike.

Court Approach Fails to Bring Relief

When the initial censor proceedings failed to clear the film, the producer approached the court seeking intervention. However, the expected relief did not materialize, and the case was later withdrawn.

The film was then sent to the Revising Committee for reconsideration, but even after this escalation, there has been no official update on the clearance status.

Release Now Pushed to June

Due to the ongoing censor complications, Jana Nayagan has now been postponed to a June release window. The prolonged delay is reportedly causing significant financial strain for the producer.

The uncertainty surrounding the certification has become a major talking point in Tamil cinema circles.

Vishal’s Strong Statement on CBFC

Actor and Nadigar Sangam representative Vishal has openly expressed his frustration over the situation. He stated:

“I’m against the idea of just 5 members deciding whether a film should be watched by 7 crore people in Tamil Nadu through censor. If this continues, more than 1500 members from Nadigar Sangam will soon go on strike against the CBFC for Jana Nayagan.”

His statement has intensified the debate around the censor system and creative freedom in the industry.

Industry Awaits Clarity

With tensions rising and a possible Nadigar Sangam strike being discussed, the situation has now moved beyond just one film. It has sparked a larger conversation about the functioning of the CBFC and its impact on Tamil cinema.

For now, the entire industry is waiting for clarity on Jana Nayagan’s censor status and whether the threatened strike will materialize.
