Vijay’s Jana Nayagan Aired on TV: Channel Owner Arrested

Thalapathy Vijay's unreleased film, Jana Nayagan, was illegally telecast on a Coimbatore local channel. After a member of his political party reported the illegal airing, Coimbatore police took swift action.

Vijay’s final film, Jana Nayagan, has landed in fresh controversy after it was illegally broadcast on a local TV channel in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. The unauthorized Jana Nayagan TV telecast came to light when a member of his political party alerted police, following the film’s online leak a few days earlier.

Following the complaint, Coimbatore police arrested 44-year-old S. Palanisamy, owner of Raasi Prime Movie channel, for airing the unreleased film on April 11. Reports state that the movie was telecast even before receiving clearance from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), making it doubly illegal.

Police Seize Equipment After Illegal Jana Nayagan TV Broadcast

The complaint was filed by Mohanapriya, deputy secretary of the Coimbatore East unit of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), Vijay’s political party. Acting swiftly on the report, police formed two special teams to investigate the unauthorized broadcast.

After completing their probe, authorities arrested Palanisamy and remanded him to judicial custody. Police seized a computer, five hard drives, and other electronic devices used for the illegal broadcast. The channel’s office was shut down immediately.

Authorities have warned that strict legal action will be taken against anyone involved in the illegal distribution of the film or any other copyrighted content through cable or online platforms.

Film Faces Repeated Piracy Incidents

Fans have been shocked by the repeated piracy incidents targeting Jana Nayagan. The film's print leaked online on April 9, spreading rapidly across multiple platforms. Despite KVN Productions issuing strong legal warnings and working to remove pirated content, major portions had already circulated widely.

The illegal TV broadcast adds another setback to the film’s troubled journey, which has also included censor delays and distribution challenges. The developments have particularly disappointed fans, as Jana Nayagan marks Vijay’s final film before his full-time entry into politics with TVK.
