Jailer film falls just inches short of a major milestone

Jailer emerges as the Final Box Office Winner in the Triangular Fight with Salaar and Leo.

Superstar Rajinikanth gave a resounding comeback with his latest film, Jailer. No one expected him to give such a roaring success with this film. Jailer was opened to positive response, and it reflected in a superb and consistent run at the box office. However, the film, Jailer, falls just inches short of a major milestone.

No Tamil film has collected 200Cr gross in overseas until now. Jailer has come very closer to the figure with 190Cr gross. The movie is already completed 3 weeks run and there is no chance to join the magical 200Cr club now. It may settle around 195Cr in its full run. If it had managed to cross 200Cr, then it will be a bigger milestone for Rajinikanth and the Tamil film industry, but the film misses the rare feat by inches.

Rajinikanth, the revered icon of the South Indian film industry, has a fan base that worships him as a God. The superstar, after a one and a half-year gap, returned to the silver screen with the film Jailer, which not only became a massive success, but it also made him receive a record remuneration of 200 Cr as per the reports.

Jailer, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, stars Rajinikanth as retired police officer Tiger Muthuvel Pandian. Apart from Rajinikanth, Jailer also features Vinayakan, Ramya Krishnan, Vasanth Ravi, and Tamannaah Bhatia in pivotal roles. Veteran stars Shiva Rajkumar, Mohanlal, and Jackie Shroff also appear in the film, which has been produced by Sun Pictures. Jailer’s music has been composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
