Superstar Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, is gearing up for its grand theatrical release. The highly anticipated sequel has completed its Jailer 2 censor formalities, with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) awarding the film a U/A 16+ certificate.
The censor process has locked the film’s official runtime at 2 hours and 45 minutes.
Jailer 2 Runtime: 2 Hours 45 Minutes
Jailer 2 has an official runtime of approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes (165 minutes), making it one of the longer Tamil releases this year.
Given the film’s massive ensemble cast and the scale expected from Nelson’s sequel, the runtime suggests an action-packed entertainer. The director has balanced multiple star appearances and commercial elements within this duration, addressing concerns about whether he can break Kollywood's sequel curse.
Jailer 2 Censor Cuts and Modifications
The CBFC has suggested a few minor modifications to Jailer 2, mostly related to violence, bloodshed, and certain dialogues. The board’s modifications include:
| Modification Type | Details |
|---|---|
| Violent visuals | Toned down blood splashes and graphic moments |
| Dialogues | Muted or modified unsuitable words |
| Sequence edits | One violent sequence shortened |
| Disclaimer added | Warning against using mobile phones while driving |
Overall, the changes appear to be minor, with only around 12 seconds of footage being removed. The film retains its U/A 16+ certification despite the violent content, indicating Nelson has delivered a mass entertainer with intense action sequences.
Apart from Rajinikanth, the film features Vidya Balan, Sooraj Venjaramoodu, Mirnaa, Ramya Krishnan, and Mithun Chakraborty in key roles.
The sequel also features several prominent actors in special appearances, including Mohanlal, Hrithik Roshan, Shiva Rajkumar, and Vijay Sethupathi, further adding to the anticipation surrounding the project.
With the Jailer 2 censor formalities now complete, the sequel is ready for its theatrical release. Fans are eager to see whether Nelson can deliver another blockbuster with Rajinikanth at the centre of it all.
