Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 has crossed ₹400 Cr gross worldwide in just four days. With that, it becomes only the eighth Tamil film ever to enter the ₹400 Cr club.
And here’s the stunning part. Half of those eight films belong to Rajinikanth.
Kollywood’s ₹400 Cr Club
- 2.0
- Vikram
- Ponniyin Selvan: Part 1
- Jailer
- Leo
- GOAT
- Coolie
- Jailer 2
Rajinikanth: 4 Out of 8
Rajinikanth’s 2.0 opened the ₹400 Cr club for Tamil cinema. Since then, he has added Jailer, Coolie and now Jailer 2.
No other Tamil star comes close. Vijay has two films in the club with Leo and GOAT, while Kamal Haasan’s Vikram and Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan: Part 1 make up the rest.
Every Rajini ₹400 Cr Film Crossed ₹500 Cr
There’s an even bigger pattern here. Every Rajinikanth film that entered the ₹400 Cr club, 2.0, Jailer and Coolie, went on to cross ₹500 Cr as well.
Jailer 2 is set to keep that record going, and it’s going to do it in its first week itself.
₹500 Cr in Week 1
Jailer 2 has crossed ₹400 Cr in four days, after back-to-back ₹100 Cr+ days. With the Dasara holidays starting tomorrow, the ₹500 Cr mark is expected within the first week.
That would make it the fastest Tamil film ever to reach ₹500 Cr.
The Biggest Prize Is Next
Jailer 2 is already the biggest South Indian grosser of 2026. Its next big target is Rajinikanth’s own 2.0, the highest-grossing Tamil film of all time.
