Superstar Rajinikanth’s Jailer has got off to an excellent start at the worldwide box office. The film managed to create a terrific buzz amongst the audience and the occupancies and audience interest both on Book My Show and on social media along with strong advance bookings were clear indicators of a solid start.
Directed by Nelson Dileepkumar who has earlier directed projects like Vijay’s Beast and Sivakarthikeyan’s Doctor, this Rajini starrer has received significant interest from the audience thanks to its exciting trailer and a loaded star cast consisting of Mohanlal, Ramya Krishna, and Shiva Rajkumar.
The opening day collections have been pretty good with Tamil Nadu opening in the range of 22Cr gross, Kerala fetching around 6Cr, Telugu states totaling around Rs 11.25Cr with Karnataka contributing around 10Cr and Rest of India adding up around 3Cr. Overseas, the film has collected around Rs 40Cr bringing the film off to sensational numbers which is more than 90Cr as per the estimates.
Rajinikanth mesmerized everyone with his extraordinary screen presence and action episodes. Nelson has achieved a solid comeback after Beast while Anirudh’s BGM is excellent. Overall, the film opened with positive WOM and will surely register extraordinary openings.
