Vyjayanthi Movies, the renowned production banner in the Telugu film industry, has issued a notice against copyright infringement of their intellectual property, Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari, while they are currently working on the sci-fi masterpiece Kalki 2898 AD. The sudden warning from the team has sparked new concerns in the industry circles.
The official press note from Vyjayanthi Movies indicates that they are the sole proprietors and owners of the cinematographic film Jagadeeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari, which was directed by K Raghavendra Rao in 1990 and stars Chiranjeevi and Sridevi. The notice emphasizes that they are the sole proprietors of the film and have the exclusive rights to produce any derivative works, such as remakes, sequels, prequels, web series, etc., based on the film and its underlying works in perpetuity worldwide in any language.
Despite not explicitly mentioning it, it is being rumored that the timing of the public note being released could be a warning to the creators of Mega 157, the upcoming film of Megastar Chiranjeevi.
Mallidi Vashista is the director of the upcoming film, which will be made as a mythological socio fantasy that is yet to be named. In the recent interviews, the director stated that the film will resemble Chiranjeevi’s legendary movie Jagadeeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari.
