Mohanlal’s Empuraan was released in theaters one month before, with never-before-seen buzz in Malayalam cinema due to the sequel (Lucifer) craze. Though the film scored big numbers at the box office, Mohanlal makes his true return with his latest film, Thudarum, and not Empuraan.

Even though the film L2E emerged as an industry hit, it failed to impress audiences as part 1 and was also involved in a big controversy. Mohan Lal, as an actor, also did not get much applause for the film.
Also, after the OTT release, the response to the film goes even poorer. So, even though it gathered big numbers at the box office, Empuraan did not provide a perfect comeback for Mohanlal.
Mohanlal makes a superb comeback with Thudarum
The legendary actor’s latest release, Thudaram, has been released in theaters today, and it has received a sensational response for this film and huge applause for Mohanlal’s performance as well.
The audiences are comparing this film with Drishyam, and with such sensational talk, the film’s bookings have also increased rapidly. The film is estimated to take around 15 Cr at the worldwide box office on day 1, which is a sensational opening considering the film’s genre and buzz.
Directed by Tharun Moorthy, the film also stars veteran actress Shobhana alongside Lal, and it is expected to see big jumps on the weekend. Mohanlal makes his true return with his latest film, Thudarum, and not Empuraan.
The trade expects it to be another 100 Cr+ grosser for Mohanlal, as content-wise and as an actor, this is a true comeback for the legendary actor. The film’s Telugu version is getting released in theaters on Saturday, 26th April.
