In recent times we have observed that in every film industry there is a single word in common that terming a film as a pan-Indian film. Now even the people are saying that there are no Telugu films,Tamil films, Hindi film it’s just Indian Cinema. Now the hot topic nationwide is the name of our country, India is changing to Bharat, so there will be no more pan India films as the word is likely to turn into pan Bharat films.
A resolution to rename India as Bharat will be presented by the government during the upcoming special session of Parliament scheduled for 18-22 September, as per the reports. The Constitution of India currently refers to the country as “India, that is Bharat…”, but there is a growing call to amend this to simply “Bharat”.
The demand for India to be renamed Bharat by amending the Constitution has risen in recent years, and sources suggest that the Central Government may decide to rename India.
Personalities such as Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Chief Mohan Bhagwat have expressed support for the change. Bhagwat had already urged people to use the term “Bharat” in place of “India”, stressing that the country has been known as Bharat for centuries.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also echoed similar sentiments. On August 15, 2022, from the ramparts of the Red Fort, he appealed to citizens to take five pledges, one of which was freedom from every trace of slavery. This was viewed as a symbolic gesture towards acknowledging the country’s indigenous identity.
