Every Friday is a crucial day for the cinema industry. Each Friday puts bread on the plate for the actors, the directors, producers, distributors, technicians, light boys, and staff. But in recent times, Fridays have been disastrous for the Telugu Film Industry.
The big budget movies or the star hero movies are somehow surviving but it is the medium budget and the non-Tier 1 heroes that are suffering. Recently the audiences are not turning to the theatres for their 3 hours of entertainment.
They would rather prefer to watch a movie in the comfort of their homes than come to the theatre. This is true, especially for a non-commercial movie like Thank You. But even masala potboilers like The Warrior have failed to attract audiences into the theatres.
The situation is only getting worse week by week and no solution is in sight. Naga Chaitanya’s Thank You movie was released this Friday and has opened to disastrous collections. At this rate, the movie is on track to be washed out before the double-digit share itself. The collections of Thank You have put trade circles in a frenzy.
Despite the massive promotions from the team and Dil Raju’s social media presence, Thank You could not sustain at the collections box.
