The collaboration between Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan and the maverick director Shankar on ‘Indian 2’ is well-known, and it will follow the duo’s two-decade-old blockbuster. The actor will return to portray the iconic ‘Senapathi’ character, the freedom fighter and vigilante hunted by authorities. The film has been the victim of many delays in its filming but in the recent days it got back on to the track, and it is also being reported that the Indian 2 team is considering preponing the release plans.
Indian 2 was reportedly planned for Independence weekend release. The shooting is completed for the film but post-production works needed a bit more time, mainly the Computer Graphics were the main focused by the team as they wanted to give a quality output. So they wanted as much of time for the pre-production works.
But Pushpa 2 officially announced for Independence weekend, and clashing with Pushpa 2 will definitely affect any pan India film, so now the team of Indian 2 is considering to prepone the release plans, and it is said that they are thinking to come in late summer like Mid-May or May end.
However, the post-production works need to be completed in time for this. Then only the film can be released without any delays and the main task for Shankar is he needs to release Game Changer in next year as well. So he cannot postpone Indian 2 to Dasara or Diwali.
Indian 2 is touted to be the most expensive film in Kamal Haasan’s career. The star cast also includes Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, Bobby Simha, Samuthirakani, Guru Somasundaram, Priya Bhavani Shankar and others with the late actors Vivek, Nedumudi Venu and Manobala.
Anirudh Ravichander is composing the music for Indian 2 with Rathnavelu’s cinematography, Muthuraj’s art direction, and Sreekar Prasad’s editing.
