Dhanush’s latest directorial, Idli Kadai, released in theaters yesterday, and the film received negative WOM and reviews from Telugu audiences, while it gathered a positive response in its homeland, Tamil Nadu.
The film did not see any openings in the Telugu version, Idli Kottu, and a less than 1 Cr start in Telugu states indicates that it faced an outright rejection and will not do any numbers further as well.
While in the Tamil version, the WOM and reviews are completely different for Idli Kadai, as the movie received positive reviews and WOM. The collections increased with each show in Tamil Nadu, and the film even saw a double-digit opening.
One more surprising thing is that the film achieved Dhanush’s career’s biggest opening, which even surprised the trade.
Today, October 2nd, the film is trending very well in Tamil Nadu, but it is facing tough competition with Kantara, which opened with huge reviews and WOM. We need to wait and see how Dhanush’s Idli Kadai manages this competition.
