Horror Thriller Pizza 3 is now streaming on OTT

The latest Tamil horror thriller, Pizza 3: The Mummy, did not get the deserved box office success. This latest addition to the Pizza movie series, which began over a decade ago, is directed by Mohan Govind. The movie has made it to the OTT release, and now it is streaming on Amazon Prime Video in all South Indian languages such as Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada.

Pizza 3: The Mummy, which stars Ashwin Kakumanu and Pavithrah Marimuthu, was released in theaters at the end of July and received positive reviews. However, the movie did not perform well at the box office. Perhaps the reason might be it being released along with other small-budget films, such as the horror-comedy DD Returns and romantic comedy LGM. Maybe the audience preferred lighter films rather than an emotionally charged horror movie. But on the other hand, a section of netizens kept enquiring about the OTT release of the film, and they will be happy to watch the film on Amazon Prime Video.

A full-fledged horror film with seriousness was a long overdue in Tamil cinema, as the mixture of humor and horror has become a common practice among Tamil filmmakers. The Pizza series has maintained the tradition of staying true to the horror genre.

It should be noted that the first film of the series, titled Pizza, was released in 2012. The movie it was a low-budget film, but it became a massive success at the box office and proved that only a big budget is needed for good movies. It also brought filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj and actor Vijay Sethupathi to center stage and made them stars.
