So if you take today’s Telugu, Tamil, Kannada markets, the films in these languages will open with huge numbers irrespective of talk and content. However, the Malayalam industry audience have a different approach to their films as in their market even the big stars cannot get minimum collections through openings.

There are a lot of factors that come into play a crucial role in box office performance, such as Hero Director combo, genre of the film. Most of the Star Hero films like Mohan Lal, Mammootty have opened with negligible numbers when the audience are not interested in those movies.

Now the same is happening with the Hindi Cinema Industry after the pandemic, the audience taste has completely changed. Even the films which have big stars are failing to receive decent openings. It strongly suggests that only stardom is not enough to pull off a film and there will be multiple factors that need to work for a film to see success.
