Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty and her husband, businessman Raj Kundra, filed a petition in the Bombay High Court seeking permission to travel abroad. The court denied their request, insisting that they deposit ₹60 crore before being allowed to leave the country.
It was further clarified that additional hearings would only proceed once this condition is fulfilled.
The couple is currently facing allegations of cheating businessman Deepak Kothari of over ₹60 crore. In connection with this case, Mumbai Police’s Economic Offences Wing has already issued lookout notices against them.
Despite this, Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra had planned to travel to Colombo between October 25–29 for an event hosted by a YouTube channel. But the High Court gave a shock to the actress and her husband
When questioned by the court about an official invitation, Shilpa’s lawyer said that the invite was only communicated via phone and would be formally issued if the court granted permission. After reviewing the petition, the court denied their request and reiterated that they can travel abroad only after depositing ₹60 crore.
