Hanuman Ansh has added another milestone to one of the most remarkable box office runs in Indian cinema. The devotional drama has crossed the ₹450 Cr gross mark worldwide, becoming only the fourth Indian film of 2026 to reach this number.
₹410 Cr India, ₹40 Cr+ Overseas
Hanuman Ansh has collected around ₹410 Cr gross in India and more than ₹40 Cr gross from overseas, taking its worldwide total past ₹450 Cr. Nearly 90 percent of its business has come from the domestic market, driven almost entirely by the Hindi version.
The 2026 ₹450 Cr Club
Only four Indian films have crossed ₹450 Cr worldwide this year:
- Dhurandhar: The Revenge
- Border 2
- Drishyam: The Conclusion
- Hanuman Ansh
What makes Hanuman Ansh’s entry special is the company it keeps. Dhurandhar 2 is a massive-scale action spectacle, Border 2 rode on one of Bollywood’s biggest franchises, and Drishyam: The Conclusion is the finale of a much-loved trilogy led by Ajay Devgn. Hanuman Ansh has no big star and was made on a budget of just ₹2 Cr.
From a Slow Start to a Rampage
Written and directed by Vishal Chaturvedi, Hanuman Ansh is based on the life and teachings of Neem Karoli Baba, with Shobhinaw Satyaa in the lead role. The film started slow, but word of mouth pushed it higher week after week. Instead of dropping, it grew in the weeks when most films fade away, and it is still posting numbers in its 10th week.
For a ₹2 Cr film, this is a return of more than 200 times its budget, a story very few films in Indian cinema history can match.
The Telugu Version That Did Not Click
The ₹500 Cr mark was once well within reach. When the Telugu version was announced, the expectation was that it would easily carry the film into the ₹500 Cr club. Telugu audiences have always backed devotional films in a big way, and Hombale Films took charge of the release.
But the Telugu version, released on October 9, surprisingly did not click. It collected only around ₹5 Cr gross in India over its opening weekend. A big reason was timing: after more than two months in theatres, many audiences in the Telugu States had already watched the film in Hindi.
How Close to ₹500 Cr?
With the Telugu version not adding much and the Hindi version naturally slowing down in its 10th week, ₹500 Cr now looks difficult. The film still has some run left, especially with the Dasara holidays ahead, so it will be interesting to see how close it can get to the mark.
Either way, Hanuman Ansh has already secured its place as one of the biggest success stories in Indian box office history.
