Written and directed by Prasanth Varma, Hanu-Man emerged as one of the biggest blockbusters of 2024. Made on a relatively modest budget, the film starred Teja Sajja and Amritha Iyer in lead roles and went on to gross over ₹300 crore worldwide. Its massive success paved the way for a sequel, Jai Hanuman, which is currently in development.
More than two years after its original theatrical release, the devotional superhero film is set to return to cinemas once again. Capitalizing on the growing trend of successful re-releases, the makers have planned a special theatrical comeback aimed at both fans and new audiences eager to experience the film on the big screen.
This time, however, the Prasanth Varma-directorial will be showcased in an enhanced 3D format instead of its original 2D version. The upgraded visual experience is expected to add a fresh dimension to the film’s action and fantasy elements. It remains to be seen whether the 3D re-release can recreate the box-office magic of its original run.
