Game Changer: Ram Charan’s Sacrifice Misfires

His performance in the Appanna character is one of his best works. The actor sacrificed years of time for the film and with all the negative scenarios before the release. Because of Ram Charan's stardom, only the film went close to 200 Cr gross. But no one is mentioning Ram Charan's efforts and his sacrifice but directly or indirectly blaming the hero himself. After seeing all these, one might feel that Charan unnecessarily stuck to the Game Changer movie. He could have done films in parallel and allocated the dates whenever possible. Despite his sincere efforts, Ram Charan’s sacrifice misfires badly for Game Changer.

Producer Dil Raju officially said that he and Shankar approached Ram Charan for a film called Game Changer, and it was a landmark film [50th Film] in the SVC banner. He also stated that because of the delay in the filming, the actor canceled one movie and gave more than 3 years for the film. However, Ram Charan’s sacrifice misfires badly.

At that time Shankar was carrying a baggage of Indian 2, as the film’s shooting was halted halfway due to budget issues. Still, Dil Raju convinced the director and started the shooting of Game Changer. 

However, in the middle of Ram Charan’s movie’s shooting, Indian 2 was returned to sets, and Game Changer started getting delayed.  Dil Raju and Shankar are mainly responsible for this. Even then, Charan gave the team massive support and provided the dates whenever Shankar wanted.

Also, the Magadheera actor didn’t even commit to any other film and spent years of his crucial time [after RRR] for Game Changer only. But, after the release, Shankar said he was not happy with the editing and indirectly mentioned he was forced to compromise on runtime and removed many good scenes from the film.

Dil Raju said that star films are also not getting openings without good promotional content; he indirectly mentioned that Game Changer did not get a good opening at the box office.

Recently, music director Thaman also said if an audio did not work for a film, the star hero also took the responsibility. Charan has given his best performance in the film and put in a lot of effort as an actor, and he delivered the best output.
