When a film called Funky was announced in the combination of Anudeep KV and Vishwak Sen, it looked very promising and was expected to be a big game-changer for the actor. But the film, which was released in theaters this Friday, did not get the expected response and failed at the box office.
Right from the promotional stage itself, something did not work for the film. The songs failed to create any buzz, and the other promotional videos also did not generate the expected buzz. Because the pre-release buzz was weak, the film needed a super positive talk.
Sadly, after its theatrical release, the content also failed to impress the audience because Funky failed to provide the hilarious content that they expected from an Anudeep KV movie. As it opened with negative talk and reviews, even though it had the advantage of the Valentine’s weekend and the Shivaratri festival, the film failed to register strong numbers at the box office.
The trend declined from Day 1 to Day 2 and Day 3. Overall, the film needs to collect close to ₹30 Cr gross to reach the breakeven mark, but by the end of its first weekend, it has collected only around ₹9 Cr gross, which is just about 30% recovery at the box office. Practically, it may not add much from here and is heading towards a box office failure.
