A recent photo of Fahadh Faasil with S.S. Rajamouli has sparked widespread speculation online, with Filmfare captioning the image as Fahadh joining Rajamouli on the sets of Varanasi. However, the latest reports indicate that the photograph is actually connected to Don’t Trouble the Trouble, Fahadh’s upcoming Telugu fantasy entertainer. Rajamouli is presenting the film, while his son S.S. Karthikeya is producing alongside Baahubali makers Shobu Yarlagadda and Prasad Devineni.
The Don’t Trouble the Trouble Connection
Fahadh Faasil and Rajamouli were recently spotted together on the film’s sets, adding further buzz to what is being positioned as Fahadh’s Telugu debut as a lead actor. The collaboration was announced in early 2024, bringing together the Baahubali production team with one of Malayalam cinema’s most versatile performers.
Directed by Shashank Yeleti, Don’t Trouble the Trouble features Fahadh as Suri, a street magician whose seemingly harmless magic tricks lead him into a bizarre supernatural situation. The teaser introduces a mysterious young girl who is eventually revealed to be a genie capable of granting wishes, setting up a fantasy adventure with comedy, mystery and emotion. The film also stars Ssara Palekar and Saurabh Sachdeva, with Kaala Bhairava composing the music.
Varanasi Confusion Clarified
The confusion surrounding Varanasi is understandable given Rajamouli’s involvement and the timing of the photograph. However, there is currently no credible confirmation that Fahadh has joined the cast of Varanasi. His appearance with Rajamouli appears to underline the latter’s association with Don’t Trouble the Trouble as presenter.
After the teaser generated curiosity, the makers have stepped up promotions. The first song, “Cakeu Walku,” was recently released. The film is scheduled to arrive in theatres on September 11, 2026, releasing in Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam.
For Fahadh, who has already built a strong Telugu following through the Pushpa films, the project marks an intriguing transition from acclaimed supporting and antagonist roles in Telugu cinema to a full-fledged Telugu lead.
