Empuraan Sets a New Benchmark in 24-Hour Pre-Bookings.

Mohanlal's Empuraan 1st Day Area Wise Box Office Collections are record-breaking. Not only in India, but the overseas also had an extraordinary start for the film. L2E emerged as one of the biggest overseas openers in Indian cinema. The Middle East number is 2.45M, America 940K, UK-Ireland stands at 820K, and Australia-NZ 380K. The rest of the world's collection will be around 450K. The total overseas gross is 5M [43 Cr]. Overall, the film opens at the worldwide box office with a staggering 68 Cr gross, and it beats the previous best, which was 20 Cr gross, by a 350% margin.

At the early hours, the film reached its peak with 96K in hourly ticket sales in ticket booking app Book My show, which is all-time record for any Indian film after Book my show started showing the ticket sales details.

In the first 24 hours, the movie sold 628K tickets and which is an all – time record in the 1st 24 hours of pre bookings. The previous best opening for Malayalam was Marakkar, which collected 20 Cr on the first day. Empuraan set is all set for 50 Cr opening, and the film has 2M advance bookings overseas alone.

Directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, the action-drama is a sequel to his hit 2019 film Lucifer. Mohanlal reprises his role as the enigmatic Stephen Nedumpally, also known as Khureshi Ab’raam, to save the day.
