The third instalment in the Drishyam franchise, titled Drishyam: The Conclusion, is gearing up for a grand release on October 2 this year. The makers are targeting the Gandhi Jayanti weekend and are planning a wide release across seven Indian states. Given the popularity of the franchise, the film is carrying considerable expectations ahead of its theatrical arrival.
Not A Remake
Unlike the first two instalments, Drishyam: The Conclusion will not be a remake and will feature an original story penned by Abhishek Pathak. As the title suggests, the film is expected to serve as the final chapter of the thriller franchise. Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran, Tabu and several other key members of the cast are set to reprise their respective roles, adding to the anticipation surrounding the film.
Massive Opening Loading
Thanks to the massive commercial success of Drishyam 2, the latest instalment is witnessing excellent advance bookings. Multiplex chains have already confirmed sales of over 80,000 tickets, just three days ahead of release. Trade experts are reportedly expecting the film to record a ₹50 crore net opening in India. Of course, its long-term performance will depend on the eventual word-of-mouth and critical reception. All in all, Drishyam: The Conclusion is heading towards a massive opening at the Hindi box office, with Abhishek Pathak returning as writer, director and co-producer.
