Love Today collected more than 60 Cr gross in Tamil Nadu and emerged as one of the biggest grossers there and performed very well in Telugu states. His 2nd lead film, Dragon, surpasses Love Today’s final collection in just 9 days. Dragon crossed the 50 Cr gross club in 9 days in Tamil Nadu, and it also crossed the 1 million dollar mark in the USA. The overall gross of the film in India will be 74 Cr, and if we mix the overseas numbers, then the film’s gross will be close to 100 Cr. Today, the film will join the 100 crore club at the box office.
The trade circles are shocked as Dragon surpasses Love Today and joins the 100 Cr Club. Titled Return of the Dragon in Telugu, it will be the 1st 100 Cr film for Pradeep Ranganathan. The film is having a sensational 2nd weekend at the theaters.
Yesterday, it saw a massive jump in collections, and even in Telugu, it also became the 1st preference for audiences. The film is expected to have a good run for a few more days and will go close to the 150 Cr mark in its full run.
A movie made on a 37 Cr budget and theatrically itself, the film is expected to collect almost double the budget, and non-theatrical rights are already sold for a very high price. With all these, Dragon turned out to be a jackpot film for producers.
