Renowned DOP Rathnavelu is currently working on RC16 starring Ram Charan, directed by Buchi Babu. The DOP shared his working experiences in the films he worked till now and also revealed a few details regarding the film in the latest podcast interview. He made it clear that he was trying something new in terms of photography for RC16 which surprised everyone.
Rathnavelu said that he was stunned to see the usage of film negative in the Hollywood acclaimed film, Oppenheimer, directed by Christopher Nolan. He said that it inspired him to also come up with this usage for RC16 as well, adding that he loves retaining the old film model. He also opined that using it more may also disturb the mood confirming that this film negative portion will have only a lesser duration in the film.
RC16 shoot is happening presently with the lead cast. There is a big speculation of titling the film as Peddi. The film is also based on a sports drama set in a village. A huge amount of budget is also being spent on the film. Co-starring Janhvi Kapoor and music score composed by Legendary Music Director A.R. Rahman, the film is scheduled for release this year.
