The collaboration between Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan and the maverick director Shankar on ‘Indian 2’ is well-known, and it will follow the duo’s two-decade-old blockbuster. The actor will return to portray the iconic ‘Senapathi’ character, the freedom fighter and vigilante hunted by authorities. The film has been the victim of many delays in its filming, but in the recent days it looked like finally the film got back on to the track, but the latest reports suggest that the dilemma still continues for the Indian 2 team is considering advancing the release plans.

From the beginning itself the film, Indian 2, faced enormous hurdles and after Udhayanidhi Stalin’s entry into the movie everyone thought that from here, there will be no hurdles for the film, but Shankar came up with a very lengthy runtime and budget hurdles increased as well.

The Indian 2 film’s footage is said to have come around 6 hours and, as said above, the budget also went very high, so the makers were decided to go for two parts but Kamal Haasan was not happy with the decision, and he convinced the makers to go for one part by involving in editing. After that, the makers were said to be convinced and planned for the Independence Day release.

But now the inside reports propose that the makers are again thinking to releasing the film in two parts and the first part is in plans to be released in Summer 2024.

Indian 2 is touted to be the most expensive film in Kamal Haasan’s career. The star cast also includes Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, Bobby Simha, Samuthirakani, Guru Somasundaram, Priya Bhavani Shankar and others with the late actors Vivek, Nedumudi Venu and Manobala.

Anirudh Ravichander is composing the music for Indian 2 with Rathnavelu’s cinematography, Muthuraj’s art direction, and Sreekar Prasad’s editing.
