Dhurandhar’s Blockbuster Hindi Run
Dhurandhar, which released in theatres last December in Hindi, turned into a massive industry hit. After the film received blockbuster word of mouth, there was strong demand for South Indian language releases in theatres as well.
However, due to time constraints, the makers did not release the film theatrically in South languages. Instead, they later added multiple language versions for OTT streaming.
Missing Kannada and Malayalam Audio on Netflix
The film is currently streaming on Netflix in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, and even Arabian and Brazilian Portuguese audio versions.
Surprisingly, the Kannada and Malayalam versions are missing — and this has led to visible frustration among audiences from those regions.
Sequel Releasing in All Languages
Now, the sequel — Dhurandhar The Revenge — is scheduled for a theatrical release on March 19 in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.
The makers have officially announced that Part 2 will release in all these languages. But audiences in Karnataka and Kerala are questioning how they are expected to watch the sequel in theatres without having access to Part 1 in their language on OTT.
Many viewers are expressing their concern on social media, stating that watching the second part without understanding the first part fully will affect their experience.
Will Makers Add Missing Languages?
With just weeks left for the sequel’s release, it remains to be seen whether the makers will resolve the issue by adding Kannada and Malayalam audio options for Part 1 on Netflix.
