Normally, Tamil audience like the content-based movies and Telugu people prefer the commercial films more, but the tricky situations will be there when the public behaves unexpectedly. One such situation is now happening with Dhanush’s latest bilingual film, Vaathi/SIR.
Vaathi [SIR movie] is message-oriented and heavy content-based one. The director Venky Atluri delivered a powerful message in the movie. But surprisingly, the film has performed better in Telugu markets and underperformed in Tamil markets, which no one expected as Dhanush is well-known actor there.
The film has collected more gross in Telugu states than Tamil Nadu in its 1st week. In Kerala the movie is a loss venture. In overseas also, the Tamil version numbers are not great. The film is a blockbuster in Telugu version, however Tamil version is yet to reach the breakeven mark, and we hope that the film will have a long run and achieve the breakeven point.
Vaathi/SIR movie stars Samyuktha Menon, P. Sai Kumar, Tanikella Bharani, and Samuthirakani in key roles. The story revolves around a teacher, who stands up to a greedy entrepreneur’s bid to privatize education, and ensures that students at his government school receive excellent results. The film received a good appreciation for its message.
The film is directed by Venky Atluri, and it is produced by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi and Trivikram under Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas. GV Prakash composed music for this film and maastaru maastaru song has become quite popular these days and the audience regard his excellent background music as one of the major highlights of the film.
