Sensational details have emerged in Kannada actor Darshan’s fan murder case, as his close aide has revealed unknown facts about the incident. Pradosh (Accused No. 14), a follower of Darshan who has turned approver, has testified that Darshan Thoogudeepa brutally beat the fan after stripping him down to his underwear and hanging him from a car.
Shocking Revelations by Accused No. 14
Pradosh’s revelations detail the disturbing sequence of events:
Darshan beat Renukaswamy, who had sent messages to Pavithra Gowda, causing bleeding from the head while verbally abusing him. Pavithra Gowda went to the scene at Darshan’s behest and struck Renukaswamy with a slipper.
Renukaswamy was hung from a ‘Tata Ace’ vehicle by his underwear and assaulted with a nylon rope. After providing food and water, Darshan kicked Renukaswamy hard on the chest and neck.
Renukaswamy collapsed and lost consciousness as a result, and Darshan then attempted to stomp on Renukaswamy’s chest while standing on it.
Pradosh stated that he pulled Darshan away at that moment and realized Renukaswamy had died, but Darshan threatened to shoot himself if the murder matter was not settled.
Pradosh testified that they tried to keep the incident under wraps for the same reason. After revealing all details, he has filed a petition requesting to be kept in a separate cell, away from Darshan.
The court is set to hear the petition and deliver a final verdict.
About Darshan’s Case
Kannada film star Darshan Thoogudeepa is an undertrial prisoner jailed in connection with the June 2024 abduction and murder of his 33-year-old fan, Renukaswamy. He faces charges including murder, kidnapping, and criminal conspiracy.
Darshan, Pavithra Gowda, and numerous co-accused were arrested and charge-sheeted by Bengaluru police. After receiving temporary and regular bails through lower courts and High Court, the Supreme Court cancelled his bail, ruling that stardom grants no immunity and that he allegedly subverted prison systems.
Darshan Thoogudeepa is currently in judicial custody.
