Anupama Parameswaran’s Crazy Kalyanam has had a very weak start at the box office. The film opened to negligible collections on Day 1 and barely registered against the big releases around it.
Crazy Kalyanam Day 1 Tracked Collections
- Gross: ₹23.13 Lakh
- Tickets Sold: 19,118
- Shows: 574
Even with 574 tracked shows, the film sold just over 19,000 tickets. That’s an average of about 33 tickets per show.
State-wise Breakdown
- Telangana: ₹12.38 L (10,239 tickets, 14.6% occupancy)
- Andhra Pradesh: ₹10.03 L (8,556 tickets, 9.6% occupancy)
- Karnataka: ₹63,015 (262 tickets, 6.4% occupancy)
- Tamil Nadu: ₹8,775 (61 tickets, 7.7% occupancy)
Telangana led with 53.5% of the total, which makes sense for a film set in rural Telangana. Andhra Pradesh had more shows (326 against Telangana’s 216) but lower occupancy at under 10%.
Outside the Telugu states, the film made almost no impact.
Lost in the Dasara Rush
Crazy Kalyanam was moved up from October 30 to October 16 to cash in on the Dasara holidays. But the move put it in the same week as Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 and Vijay Deverakonda’s Ranabaali.
With Jailer 2 taking most of the screens and attention, small films like Crazy Kalyanam got little room to breathe.
About the Film
Directed by Badrappa Gajula and produced by Boosa Jaganmohan Reddy under Arrow Cinemas, Crazy Kalyanam is a rural family comedy-drama. Anupama Parameswaran leads the film, with Naresh, Tharun Bhascker and Akhil in key roles.
The story revolves around wedding-day chaos and a family feud, with Naresh and Anupama’s characters at the centre of it.
Can Dasara Save It?
The only hope now is the Dasara holiday week. Family comedies can sometimes pick up with good word of mouth during festival time. But with such a low start, a big turnaround looks very tough.
Actual figures may vary slightly, but not by much.
