Rajinikanth and Lokesh’s gangster action drama, Coolie, has completed the censor formalities today. The surprising thing is that Coolie becomes Lokesh Kanagaraj’s first A-certificate film.
Everyone knows that the Kaithi director handles the stylized violence and high-octane action spectacles with ease in his films, and the same is expected from his next film too.
Interestingly, even Rajinikanth does not have many films with an Adult certification in his 30-40 years of film journey. If we observe, films with violent themes or gangster backdrops of superstars, like Kabali, Kaala, and Jailer, have obtained U/A ratings.
So, it is interesting that Coolie marks Lokesh Kanagaraj’s first A Certificate Film, and even for Rajini, it is not a regular thing.

In a recent promotional interview, Lokesh Kanagaraj stated that there would be “no compromise in violence.” But he also reiterated that the film will not have a drugs backdrop. Looking at the censor rating, it is confirmed that the film will have intensified violence.
Meanwhile, fans await the “Coolie Unleashed” event, which is scheduled for tomorrow, where a major part of the film’s team is expected to arrive. Adding to the anticipation, the much-awaited trailer is also set to be unveiled at 7 PM tomorrow.
