Rajinikanth and Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Coolie falls short of Vijay’s record in Kerala. Vijay’s film, Leo, had its Kerala rights sold for 16 Cr, and it became a profitable venture.
Vijay’s next film, GOAT: The Greatest Of All-Time, was sold for 17 Cr, but it ended up as a massive loss venture for the distributor.
Coming to the Coolie, the film’s Kerala deal has been closed for the 3rd biggest price with 14 Cr. Now, to achieve breakeven, the film needs to collect more than 35 Cr gross, which will definitely be an easy task with positive WOM.
