Controversy Forces Empuraan to Delete Scenes

The makers themselves have now come forward to re-edit the film and re-censor it. As per Malayalam news channels, 17 scenes will be either edited or muted, and a revised version will come out next week.

Mohanlal’s Empuraan became the center of attraction for controversial reasons. While the film opened with an outstanding performance at the box office, it has touched very sensitive points that are certainly against a section of people. Now, Empuraan’s team is forced to delete scenes due to controversy. 

Right from the FDFS of the film, Hindu people who watched the film were hurt by a few scenes and criticized Mohanlal and Prithviraj for putting such scenes in the film. Of course, the right/left wings across media and social media have been divided in this matter, as a few support and a few oppose the film.

Huge controversy has erupted over Empuraan, as the right-wing organization in Kerala and RSS mouthpiece Organiser have criticized the film, accusing it of pushing an anti-Hindu political agenda.

Empuraan’s Writer Stays Nuetral

Empuraan writer Murali Gopy took a neutral stance, refusing to engage in the debate. “I will keep total silence on the controversy. Let them fight it out. Everyone has the right to interpret the film in their own way,” he told the media.
