Jason Sanjay, son of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and actor Vijay, is making his directorial debut with Sigma, a heist action-comedy starring Sundeep Kishan in the lead. Faria Abdullah plays the female lead, while Raju Sundaram, Sampath Raj and Shiv Panditt appear in key roles. Thaman S has composed the music, with the film produced by Subaskaran under Lyca Productions. The story revolves around an ordinary man whose choices land him in difficult situations, with the consequences of those decisions forming a key part of the narrative. Sigma is set to release worldwide on October 2, 2026, while its Hyderabad pre-release event will be held on September 25 at Park Hyatt from 6 PM.
Chiranjeevi To Grace Sigma Event
The major attraction of the Hyderabad event will be the presence of Megastar Chiranjeevi as the chief guest. His appearance also adds another layer to the long-standing professional goodwill between the Chiranjeevi and Vijay families. Following Vijay’s political victory in Tamil Nadu earlier this year, several members of the Telugu film fraternity publicly congratulated him. Chiranjeevi has also shared a connection with Vijay through Khaidi No. 150. Ahead of the 2017 release, Chiranjeevi publicly thanked Vijay for helping him secure the Telugu remake rights to Kaththi, the Tamil blockbuster that starred Vijay. The film went on to become Chiranjeevi’s 150th movie and comeback vehicle, with V.V. Vinayak directing the Telugu adaptation.
Chiranjeevi’s Upcoming Line-Up
Meanwhile, Chiranjeevi has several major projects lined up after his recent release. His next confirmed theatrical outing is Bobby Kolli’s Kaaka, which is locked for a January 13, 2027 release during Sankranthi. He is also set to headline Vishwambhara, the socio-fantasy adventure directed by Vassisht, although its release plans remain uncertain amid reports of a shift to 2027. Chiranjeevi is also associated with the upcoming project from The Paradise director Srikanth Odela. With Sigma marking Jason Sanjay’s first major directorial outing and Chiranjeevi attending its Hyderabad event, the veteran star’s presence is expected to add considerable attention to the film’s Telugu promotions.
