Chatrapathi remake faces huge loss

Bellamkonda Srinivas is on a remake spree. His next couple of movies, in fact, are big-ticket remakes- Chatrapathi and Karnan. VV Vinayak will be directing Chatrapathi which will be remade in Hindi marking Srinivas’ Bollywood debut.

The film’s shoot was stalled recently due to a surge of Covid cases. To shoot for certain crucial sequences, the unit had erected a set reportedly worth Rs 3 crores across 6 acres of land in Hyderabad. This set stood at the same place where Ram Charan’s Rangasthalam was erected a few years ago.

Unfortunately, the set faced heavy destruction and got dismantled due to heavy rains in Hyderabad a few days ago. This has caused a massive loss to the makers of the film. The set was created under the supervision of art director Sunil Babu and it took 40 days to complete the works on it.

The yet to be titled film will be made on a grand scale and Bellamkonda Sreenivas will undergo a complete makeover to play an action-packed role, originally played by Prabhas. Chatrapathi Hindi remake is being directed by VV Vinayak and produced by Jayantilal Gada’s Pen Studios.
