A heartbreaking stampede happened at Thalapathy Vijay’s roadshow in Karur, Tamil Nadu, on Saturday, and sadly, it looks like many people, including kids, have lost their lives.
According to the media reports, nearly 29 people have died so far because of the chaos at Vijay’s roadshow, as his fans showed up at the place almost seven hours early. When the actor showed up late, the crowd apparently rushed forward to see him, causing chaos and a tragic stampede.
M.K. Stalin, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, shared his shock about the incident and sent his condolences in a post on X (formerly Twitter). The officials are keeping an eye on things and organizing help efforts.
Vijay launched his political party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), earlier this year and has been hitting the road with statewide shows and public gatherings as he gears up for the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. Today’s event apparently attracted more than 100,000 attendees.
