The trend of re-releases has now caught on to other industries as well. After Mahesh Babu’s Pokiri and Okkadu, Pawan Kalyan’s Jalsa, Chiranjeevi’s Gharana Mogudu and Balakrishna’s Chenna Kesava Reddy, it’s now time for Rajinikanth to re-appear on the silver screen with his yesteryears’ hit.
Rajinikanth’s Baba is now all set to release on 10th December; just 2 days before the Superstar’s 72nd birthday. The euphoria among fans will be at peak and considering the usual occasion of the weekend and Superstar’s birthday coinciding, there are high expectations on the opening collections breaking records.
Pawan Kalyan’s Jalsa is the current record holder amongst re-releases for opening day collections. The opening day is gross close to 3Cr we have to see whether Rajini’s Baba will break this record or not.
Released in 2002, Baba was a commercial failure at the box-office. However, over the years, the movie has earned a good following among movie lovers. Rajinikanth himself wrote the story and screenplay of the film and even produced it while Suresh Krissna directed the film.
