The hype around Rajinikanth and Lokesh Coolie is massive. The trade expects a 100 Cr opening from Coolie in India.
Until now no film from Kollywood has opened with 100 Cr gross in India, and even if we look at the worldwide box office, overall only 2 films from Kollywood have gathered over 100 crore gross.
Both Tamil Cinema’s 100 crore grossers belong to Vijay, Leo, and GOAT.
Leo is the biggest opener for Kollywood in India and worldwide. But even Leo also did not open with a 100 Cr+ start in India, as it collected around 85 Cr gross on the opening day.
Now all eyes are on Coolie, as the film definitely has a big chance to open with a 100 crore start in India as it is carrying a big buzz in all languages.
But the only concern is that War 2, which is releasing on the same day. So the issue is with screen count, especially in Telugu States, and Karnataka and North markets.
So that is why everyone, including fans and trade, is curious whether Coolie can open with 100 Cr in India.
