Buyers are disappointed and worried with bookings of Ponniyin Selvan 2

Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan 2 is all set to be released on April 28th. The film has been surrounded by massive expectations, both content and box office wise. However, the advance bookings of the film are making the buyers disappointed and worried. Normally, if the 1st part of a film becomes a big hit, then naturally there will be a massive buzz for the 2nd part.

We know that the same thing had happened for Baahubali and KGF Series. The whole nation waited to watch those sequels. Even now, for, Pushpa 2 is already carrying a massive buzz. However, the same cannot be said for Maniratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan 2. It is very well known to everyone that Mani Ratnam’s dream project Ponniyin Selvan 1 had created wonders and records for Tamil cinema, and it had got just okayish numbers in other languages. Now for the 2nd part also there is Zero Buzz in other languages, and it’s homeland as well.

The bookings for the movie have opened in all territories and the release date is also coming closer but still, the bookings are trending on a below par note, that too considering PS 2 being a sequel to an all-time blockbuster, these bookings can even be rated as poor. Now the word of mouth from the audience will be very crucial for Ponniyin Selvan 2 as high stakes are involved for the film.

Especially in Tamil territories, the Exhibitors/ Buyers have bought the movie for high prices, and they are worrying about the kind of bookings Ponniyin Selvan 2 is registering.

The film comprises a huge star cast that includes Vikram, Karthi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, and Jayam Ravi. Ashwin Kakumanu, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Sarath Kumar, Prabhu, Vikram Prabhu, Jayaram, Prakash Raj, Parthiban, Lal, and Mohan Raman are also part of the cast. Produced by Madras Talkies in association with Lyca Productions, Ponniyin Selvan 2 is all set to be released on April 28 worldwide.

The music of the film is scored by AR Rahman, and the cinematography has been handled by Ravi Varman, editing by Sreekar Prasad, production design by Thotta Tharani, dialogues by Jeyamohan, costumes by Eka Lakhani, make-up by Vikram Gaikwad, and choreography by Brinda.
