Director Mohan Raja has revealed that the much-anticipated sequel Thani Oruvan 2 is currently facing delays due to budget issues. While the script is ready, the team has yet to finalize the financial plan for the film.

Speaking about the situation, Raja shared that producer Archana Kalpathi responded thoughtfully after hearing the script. “She said this isn’t the right time. The film demands a big budget, and the industry needs to grow further to support such a scale,” he explained.
Despite the temporary setback, Raja assured fans that the project is still very much alive. “It might get delayed, but it will definitely happen,” he affirmed, keeping hopes high for the sequel to the blockbuster Thani Oruvan.
The original film, released in 2015, was a massive success both critically and commercially, and fans have been eagerly awaiting news of its follow-up. With the script locked and the vision in place, Thani Oruvan 2 promises to be a grand cinematic experience, once the budget issues are sorted out.
Thani Oruvan was a huge blockbuster in Telugu as well. It was remade as Dhruva (2016) with Ram Charan as the lead.
