Bollywood’s most ambitious and costliest project to date Brahmastra was released in theatres on 9th September and opened to tremendous opening day collections. But the movie received mixed responses from the public and failed to hold well after a solid opening weekend. While everyone was in awe of the VFX and the CGI work in the movie, the lack of depth in the writing was a huge letdown.
After a poor hold on the weekdays, the film was expected to crash in the coming days. But the 2nd-weekend collections have given some hope to the makers. Brahmastra witnessed a huge jump on Saturday at the box office. The film collected around 17 crores nett collections on Saturday, giving it a strong push.
The advance bookings for today are also super strong and the film is expected to easily achieve 20 crores today. Brahmastra is on track to touch the 200 crore mark today and there are very high chances of the film hitting 300 crores in its entire run. However, the budget of the film is huge and it will still end up becoming a failure.
Brahmastra stars Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, and Mouni Roy in the lead roles. Ayan Mukherji is the writer as well as the director of the film. Karan Johar has produced the film under the Dharma Productions banner.
