Big Producers Dominate Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce Elections

The results of the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce (TFCC) elections have been announced, with leading producers emerging victorious. Senior producer Suresh Babu has been elected as the President of TFCC. In the previous elections, this position was held by producer Dil Raju.

This time, elections were conducted for members of the Executive Committee along with representatives from four different sectors. Two panels contested the elections: the Mana Panel, supported mainly by small producers, and the Progressive Panel, backed by leading producers.

Top producers Allu Aravind, Dil Raju, and Suresh Babu strongly supported the Progressive Panel, while C. Kalyan, Prasanna Kumar, and Chadalavada Srinivasa Rao backed the Mana Panel. In the producer sector, five candidates from the Progressive Panel and seven from the Mana Panel were elected. But overall, candidates from the Progressive Panel secured more victories.

In the studio sector, three candidates from the Mana Panel and one from the Progressive Panel were elected. The exhibitors’ sector saw a major win for the Progressive Panel, with 14 members elected, while the Mana Panel secured only two seats. In the distribution sector, out of 12 Executive Committee positions, the Progressive Panel won eight, three by the Mana Panel, and the other one was a tie.

Overall, out of 44 Executive Committee members, the Progressive Panel secured 28 seats, while the Mana Panel won 15 seats. As a result, all the key positions, including President, Vice President, and Secretary, will remain under the Progressive Panel’s control.

With 3,355 registered members in the Telugu Film Chamber, elections were held for the President, Secretary, and 12 Executive Committee members. The newly elected body will remain in office until 2027.

For the next two years, crucial decisions related to the Telugu film industry, such as theatre-related issues, coordination among producers, and support for small-budget films, will be handled by TFCC President Suresh Babu and his team.
