Starring Aishwarya Rajesh in the title role, Farhana, which was released in the theaters in May, has now made its OTT debut. The film was released in May in theaters and was well received. Despite a massive backlash from the Muslim community, the film was open to positive response from the critics and audiences. Now, after one month of release, Farhana finally streaming on OTT.
The digital rights of Farhana have been bagged by the OTT platform, Sony LIV. Farhana is now streaming in three different languages (Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi). It is only available for the viewers that are holding a subscription to the streaming service platform.
Aishwarya Rajesh plays the role of Farhana, who works as a call center employee which runs a phone sex/ intimate talks kind of service due to her family’s financial situation. But things get dangerous when her growing proximity to a random stranger puts her in deep trouble. The film is directed by Nelson Venkatesan.
Farhana landed in trouble during its theatrical release, as Muslim organizations alleged that the film portrays the Muslim community in a bad light.
