Nandamuri Balakrishna had a successful start to this year by giving a blockbuster with his latest film, Veera Simha Reddy. Now, the actor is involved in a controversy yet again. On his talk show, Unstoppable with NBK Season 2, he was speaking to Pawan Kalayan where he narrated how he had an accident. He told Pawan Kalayan that the nurse who came was hot, saying, “Dheenamma Bhalega undi akkadi nurse.” (That nurse was so hot).
The nurses’ association opposed that to what extent it is justified to make such remarks on the nurse who has given him treatment, and they demanded that he should take back his comments against nurse. Balakrishna took to his Facebook page and posted an apology.
The actor’s apology note read, “I strongly reject the baseless claims that I slandered the nursing profession. The meaning of what I said was completely changed. I hold nurses and their work in the highest esteem. At our hospital, Basavatarakam Cancer Hospital, I have personally witnessed their excellent care. I regret if my words offended them.”
Balayya got into another issue when he mentioned about Nagarjuna’s father. He commented disrespectfully about veteran actors Akkineni Nageswara Rao (ANR) and SV Ranga Rao at the success celebration of Veera Simha Reddy.
Balakrishna said, “My father Sr NTR had some contemporaries, Ranga Rao Akkineni, Thokkineni, and some others (referring to SV Ranga Rao and Akkineni Nageswara Rao).” Actors Naga Chaitanya and Akhil Akkineni, who are ANR’s grandkids, condemned Balakrishna’s remarks on their social media accounts.
Balakrishna has made it a constant thing to make statements which come across offensive and to issue apologies for the comments he passed.
