Awarapan 2 Box Office: ₹39.90 Cr Day 2, Crushes Batwara 1947

This Independence Day weekend has witnessed an intense box office battle, with Awarapan 2 emerging as the clear winner. Emraan Hashmi’s film has completely overshadowed Sunny Deol’s Batwara 1947, while Suriya’s Vishwanath & Sons continues its dream run towards the ₹100 Cr milestone.

Awarapan 2 Dominates Independence Day Clash

Bollywood trade analysts expected a competitive clash between Awarapan 2 and Batwara 1947, but the former has delivered a stunning upset. Emraan Hashmi’s film recorded a massive ₹39.90 Cr tracked gross on Day 2, registering a strong 53.1% jump over its opening day.

Batwara 1947 also posted impressive growth with a 132.7% surge over Day 1, but despite the strong jump, Sunny Deol’s film is being completely overshadowed in the Independence Day face-off.

Other Independence Day Releases

The Hollywood blockbuster Spider-Man: Brand New Day maintained its strong momentum, collecting nearly ₹14 Cr tracked gross on Saturday (including 3D charges). The Tom Holland starrer has now crossed ₹600 Cr total in India.

Meanwhile, Suriya’s Vishwanath & Sons continues its superb run and is all set to cross the ₹100 Cr gross mark today.

Small films also made their mark — Hushar Pittalu surprised trade analysts with tracked gross in the ₹1 Cr range on its opening day, while Korean Kanakaraju posted strong numbers at the box office.
